Beatrix Lehman

(1903 - 1979) b. England.

 

 

 

British doyenne of the classical stage who, later in life, appeared with more frequency in selected films and TV programs as a character support.

Also known for her writings.

From a highly distinguished family: Her father was humorist Rudolph Chambers Lehmann, her great-uncle was the painter Henri Lehmann, her brother was essayist and poet John Lehmann, and her sister was novelist Rosamond Lehmann.
